Description:

The 2.66-mile tri-oval Talladega Superspeedway is known as one of the best motor sports facilities in the nation. Located 40 miles east of Birmingham, the track also holds the International Motorsports Hall of Fame and Museum. A number of records have been set at the speedway, including the fastest 500-mile stock car race, most leaders in a NEXTEL Cup event and most lead changes in a NEXTEL Cup event, giving it the title of "NASCAR's Most Competitive Track."
